Daughters

I love Nas’ song “Daughters.” I’m 26 years old and I am definitely a part of the hip hop generation. There are other songs like John Mayer’s song but I don’t relate to it the way I do to Nas’. It’s not the genre as much as it is the content. It’s about being a single father raising a little girl.

While Nas may have been talking about his teenage daughter I still understand because everything he’s mentioned that he is currently going through you think of from the moment she’s born.

A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning up Cydney’s room listening to Nas’ new album and by the time I got to track #5, Cydney comes in the room, wants to get in the crib, and says “catch!” which means she wants to throw the ball.  So here is the video of that moment. Enjoy.
