Thrown Off

I’ve been a little off my game recently. I usually write my posts somewhere between 11:30 PM and 9 AM. I haven’t had writer’s block or anything, I’ve just been sleeping. For the last week or so as soon as Cydney passes out I’ve been following right behind her. Usually with big plans of quiet me time or a little extra work being the casualty.

For most of the last four years I’ve been going to bed around 3 AM and waking up somewhere between 6 and 7 AM.  There have been plenty of reasons. When I sold cars I had to be at work by 7:30 and gpt off at 8 PM and when my car broke down I’d be commuting from Cobb County to Alpharetta by bus and train which would take 2.5 hours each way, still come home and give Timile her time. There was the period of unrest when I got laid off where I would be under stress because of us fighting and I’d need to mellow out also. When she was pregnant she wanted me to fall asleep after her at 3 and I’d still be up by 7 AM, the getting no sleep for months with the newborn and then life got busy and stressful the last two years since for many reasons.

I guess my body has been telling me to chill. I looked at myself in the mirror two weeks ago and I looked like I’d been running on fumes. Ever since my body has taken over whatever will I had to do otherwise. I’m asleep before 11, up at 7 to take my nephew to school, and there’s a good two hour nap in there as well in which I still wake up dog tired. Rest is important and inspite of all that I’ve been doing and thinking about its been time to pause.

So that’s what I’ve been up to. Getting much needed and forced rest. I’m sure soon I’ll be back at my regularly scheduled program but I’ve been resetting.
